The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Shalom

Peace be both to thee and peace be to thine house, and peace be unto all that thou hast.  1 Sam 25:6

The Hebrew word for Peace is Shalom which means the inward sense of completeness, wholeness, feeling of contentment, health, safety, and prosperity. The Word peace is used to greet, wish and bless others.

In today’s promise, David and his men were in the wilderness, hungry, needy and low in their supplies, yet protected Nabal’s sheep and send these greetings of peace to Nabal. David in his restless situation knows the importance of peace.

God expects us to have peace in our lives. Only if we have Peace with God, we can have peace within and then only we can have peace with others.

Lord, grant us thy peace, within our hearts, not as the world gives, but as You give.  Amen!
