The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Sins Forgiven

Be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven..

-Mathew 9:2

Summary of Mathew chapter 9:

We understand from this chapter that the charges are levelled against Jesus, and they are finally bring to his death. The charges are as follow

1.   He is accused of blasphemy, Matthew 9:1-8

2.   He is accused of immorality, Matthew 9:10-13

3.   He is accused of slackness in piety, Matthew 9:14-17

4.   He is accused of being in league with the devil, Matthew 9:31-17

Here we can see the beginning of the campaign against Jesus. The slanderers are at work. The whispering tongues are poisoning truth and wrong motives are being ascribed. The drive to eliminate this disturbing Jesus has begun.

Verse Mathew 9:2:

Jesus curing the paralytic by forgiving his sins; and we hear the scribes accusing him of blasphemy because he claimed to do what only God can do.

Jesus was accused of blasphemy because he spoke with the voice of God.  And Jesus' enemies accused him of insulting God because he arrogated to himself the very powers of God.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come to You today, bowing in my heart, asking for protection from the evil one. Lord, we are assailed moment by moment with images on television, the internet, books and newspapers that leave us vulnerable to sin of every kind.

Surround us with Your divine hedge of protection. Encompass us round about with Your strength and Your might.

Father, I ask that You protect our minds. The mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.

(Romans 8:6) O God, set our minds on You. Let us not be conformed to this world ,but be transformed by the renewing of our minds that we may prove what Your will is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Protect God’s servant’s families while they are away from them to serve you. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
