The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Silence2Salvation

He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth. Isaiah 53:7

A servant is not permitted to talk back; he or she must submit to the will of the master or mistress. Jesus Christ is the king of kings but was as silent as a servant before those who accused Him as well as those who afflicted Him. We see in scriptures that He was silent before Caiaphas, the chief priests, and elders, Pilate, and Herod Antipas. He did not speak when the soldiers mocked Him and beat Him.

Oppressed and afflicted – Can we imagine the king of Heaven being stripped of all beauty, form, majesty, and esteem, being smitten and pierced?

Our Lord willingly chose to be close to grief and sorrow, to be rejected and despised and chose to do all that silently so that by his knowledge we may be accounted righteous !!!

Many of us feel rejected, we feel sorrow and pain (for some wrong-doing which could have done by us or by others) but how do we react to it? Our pain is nowhere close to our Lord’s who bore the guilt and shame of the whole world, yet we are quick to retaliate. His silence has brought us Salvation. Are we willing to be silent during sufferings or retaliate?

May we follow Jesus example and through our quiet suffering draw many to Him.
