"But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, Slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness and truth." –Psalms 86:15
This psalm is titled as a prayer of David. If we observe that today’s verse is mainly transcribed from Exodus 34:6. I feel that David read the five books of Moses and learned who GOD is. And used the same verse in his prayer.
In all his works, his goodness prevails. GOD is good. Therefore, we have to praise him as he comforts us in reference to the wickedness and cruelty of the current world we live in. Men are barbarous, but GOD is gracious; men are false, but GOD is faithful. He is slow to anger towards us, though we forget his favors and provoke him to anger, and he is merciful and faithful.
Heavenly Father, thanks for considering me as worthy to be live on today. I angered you many times but with your grace and mercy, you saved me.
You are the hope for hopeless so I'm running to you with both hands stretched out and grabbing on to you. Fill me up with hope and give me a tangible reminder today that hope is an unbreakable spiritual lifeline (Hebrews 6:19).
