“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously.” – James 1:5
Faith gives us the ability to choose wisdom that is heavenly and to shun wisdom that is earthly. The epistle of James refers to the wisdom that we need to endure the trials with joy. God’s people often do lack His wisdom on how to endure trials with joy. Wisdom helps us to understand the trial from God’s perspective and helps us to navigate through the storm as to bring glory to God; thereby we grow in maturity in Christ. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ. God gives wisdom to every believer in Christ who asks in faith. God never makes us feel cheap or irresponsible for asking again and again.
King Solomon asked God for wisdom to become a good king. The young king’s request pleased God. Solomon got what he asked for – but God also promised him great riches and honor. There was no one wiser than Solomon except Jesus Christ.
‘Our God is a giving God, God gives generously, God gives generously to all, God gives without reproach!’
