The LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s… 1 Sam 17:47
These are the words uttered by a young shepherd boy David to a giant warrior Goliath. David understood at his young age:
- That God is bigger and stronger than his enemy standing before him
- To trust in God’s strength than his weakness
- That the same God who delivered him in the past will be faithful enough to deliver him in his present
Though untrained for battle, by trusting in God’s power and using God’s weapons, David was able to defeat the enemy.
God’s weapons for battle are not the same as the weapons of this world.
Apostle Paul encourages us to put on the full armor of God to face our spiritual battles in our lives. The world may belittle us in seeing our armor but be encouraged that the battle belongs to the Lord!
Faith is not knowing that God can, but God will!
