If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:13
We are given an assurance this morning that even when we are unfaithful, God is faithful and cannot sway from it because “Faithful” is He. Yes, our God is eternally “Faithful” in who He is, what He does and what He says. Regardless of whether we choose to put our faith in Him or not, God changes not. If and when we are faithless, God is still Faithful. Whatever we may be suffering, because of Christ we have an assurance that God is and forever will be “Faithful” concerning us even if we are faithless to Him because Faithful is He and He cannot deny Himself.
Often we are weak, and we fail and fumble and stumble. We are faithless like Peter when he denied the Lord yet he will remain faithful, for he cannot deny himself. If He is in us, He will hold us safe until the end. He will restore us. He will bring us back from that wicked path which has temporarily separated us from Him. He will bring us back to humility, to repentance, and confession of our transgressions, to a restoration, so that we can walk with Him by grace.
