…let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. Heb 13:15
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Do you know that through Jesus Christ, the fruit of our lips (sacrifice of our praise) takes us into His courts? As Jesus Christ’s fruit of sacrifice pleases our heavenly father, our fruit of lips should also please our heavenly father.
Bible tells us that God is Holy and whatever enters His presence is also Holy. With our tongue, we praise our God and curse human beings. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. If cursing comes out of our lips, that is not holy. Can both fresh water and saltwater come out from the same spring? Can a fig tree bear olives and grapevine bear figs? As the answer is no, instead of bringing cursing, backbiting, and gossip out of our mouth, let us “continually” bring the sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name so that our Heavenly Father pleases what it comes out of our mouth!
