Ephesians 3:16 ”I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit.”
In our verse today, we received an assurance through Paul’s letter to the Ephesians that we would have: inner strength, the inhabitation of Christ in our hearts, which will open up our hearts to focus and comprehend what is going on around us, and the knowledge of God’s deep love for us. He encouraged us to see how God’s strength is dwelling inside of us. Paul is enabling us to see ourselves as a child of God means that we have the fullness of God in the form of the Holy Spirit taking up residence in us and empowering us with the Holy Spirit as a gift to us, but this gift isn’t given to us just to sit around and not be used. When we think back to the best gifts we’ve ever received, those gifts probably came from the people that love us and know us well. They wanted to give us something that would satisfy a desire that we had. God is similarly working in our lives by giving us His Holy Spirit. Because He knows us better than even we know ourselves, He’s given us a gift that can ultimately prevent us from ever being shaken or defeated.
God gave us this gift with the purpose, and through the glory of His riches, the same Spirit that conquered sin and death.
Because He loves us and continues to love us beyond our understanding, He gave us the same spirit Jesus had so we could rise above the all difficult things that we struggle with. No circumstance, experience, or sin has power over us. Fear itself doesn’t even have power over us because the God of the universe already won by giving us His Spirit to do all things.
That statement alone should be encouraging! We don’t have to settle down and live a mediocre life because He already gave us what we need to live in fullness.
Trusting Him alone is enough to bring freedom. The pressure is not up to us to strive, overcome, or take care of anything by ourselves. He is with us in the process and is ready to meet us right where we are.
Let’s not sit back afraid of our situation, circumstances, or limited resources available for use by our understanding, instead let’s step forward in faith because He who created us has a perfect plan to use us for His glorious work done through us.
Let’s empower ourselves with the real powerhouse. Step forward and subdue the whole earth. Because He said to be blessed, multiply, and subdue the whole world.
Promise: “I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.”
Prayer: Dear Lord Heavenly Father mighty wonderful God. Lord, Thank you for giving me everything I need to live each day with peace, joy, and love. I surrender all of my worries, fears, and doubts to you. Trusting that Your spirit is way stronger than any unbelief or lie that would tell me that You are not enough. Let Your perfect love dwell in me so that I can love others the way You have loved me. In Jesus’s Holy Name, I pray Amen.
Have a blessed day!
