But now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. Isaiah 64:8
What an amazing verse. Isaiah starts this chapter by glorifying and magnifying our God from verses 1-5. Then Isaiah talks about our sinful nature, that we are unclean things, hidden, and consumed by our iniquities(v6-v7). Finally establishes the relationship and says, but now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.
Yes, my dear, You and I are God’s masterpiece, shaped by God, molded by God. No matter what our current spiritual state is, we can depend on him and trust him with all our imperfections and problems because he is our father, a gracious, loving, and merciful father.
All we need to do is trust Him and surrender as the clay surrenders to the potter. Then, potter, our father will shape us and mold us into the person, He wants us to be.
In the process, God may break us sometimes but continue to trust Him because He is cleaning up all your iniquities and making you a vessel of honor. Just trust the process; trust the potter unconditionally. Amen.
