Put on the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Ephesians 6:11
Paul writes here, “wiles of the devil.” which means that our enemy always has plans to destroy us. The enemy is powerful, wicked, and crafty (See Ephesians 6:12). We need to stand and fight against this powerful enemy. How can we do that? We need to put on the whole armor of God.
Ephesians 6:14-17 lists out the whole armor of God. Every believer should suit up every day and be ready for the war.
Armor of God and its spiritual meaning…Belt of Truth (wrap ourselves in the word of God), Breastplate of Righteousness (live righteously obeying God’s commandments), Shoes of the Gospel (stand firm in the Gospel of peace), Shield of Faith (trust in the promises of God and march on), Helmet of Salvation (continue to work out our salvation) and finally Sword of the Spirit (always hold onto Gods Word).
My dear, this is spiritual warfare. Submit to God and resist the devil.
Remember, the ultimate victory is ours in Christ.
Till Christ returns… Believers, be on guard!
