The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

I shall not be greatly moved

He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved. Psalm 62:2

When we visited Monocacy River, Frederick, we got into a small and beautiful creek, which had only a couple of feet in depth. While we were enjoying the water, at a given point, the water was flowing so fast that we lost our balance. Luckily, there was a big rock in the middle of the water flow, and we immediately got into it, where we felt safe and secure.

This situation reminded me that the fast-flowing water resembles sin and problems in our lives. If we don’t be careful, we will be washed away by those problems. But remember that next to each problem, the Rock is always available for us to stand. That Rock is Jesus. Only this Rock helps us to escape from sin. If we stand on the Rock, we shall not be moved.

The meaning of Jesus is, “Yahweh is salvation.” As Jesus is our Rock, defense, and salvation, let us ponder upon the “reason for the season” by entering into the month of December.
