…Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins…- Acts 2:38
We were born sinners therefore destined to eternal damnation. But God demonstrated His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
To repent means to turn away from sin. Changing the direction of our life from selfishness and rebellion against God's laws. At the same time we must turn to Christ, depending on him for forgiveness, mercy, guidance and purpose.
Baptism identifies us with Christ and with the community of believers. Baptism parallels the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Baptism should also represent the death and burial of our sinful old way of life.
Praise God for the gift of salvation unto mankind through his sacrifice on the Cross and eternal life.
